Click here for Blue Card Save & Print Instructions
Scouts should discuss the badge(s) they are registering for with their Scoutmaster prior to signing up.
All blue cards are required to be handled digitally. When you register your respective Scout(s) for their merit badge session(s), you are confirming your Scout(s) has discussed the badge(s) with their Scoutmaster. Your updated electronic blue card will be available for download three days after the conclusion of the event. No physical blue cards will be signed.
If a Scout does not complete all of the requirements for a merit badge during the session, they will receive a “Partial Completion” and have their digital blue card returned indicating the requirements that were completed. Scouts can reach out to a local counselor to complete missing requirements. Your Scoutmaster can provide you a list of these counselors. Our instructors are not permitted to sign off on requirements following the conclusion of the event.
If the merit badge is completed, the back of the blue card will be signed and dated by the counselor.
All Scouts should submit a copy of their blue card to their Scoutmaster, whether or not the Scout completes the badge. Your records on onteora.org do not automatically transfer to Scoutbook.
Availability
These workshops are extremely popular and are offered strictly on a first come first served basis. There is no waitlist available for classes that are full, and additional class spots will not become available. Registration will close one week prior to the event. No late registrants will be accepted. There are many other opportunities for advancement in Scouting, including working with your Scoutmaster to contact a local counselor or attending summer camp.
Refund Policy
As per Theodore Roosevelt Council's Refund Policy, there is a strict no refund or transfer of credit policy for all events.
Expected Behavior
Scouts are expected to abide by the Scout Oath and Law at all times, and that includes during these merit badge offerings. If a Scout is being disruptive of their class, they will be sent home with no refund issued.
Merit Badge Completions
Attendance at one of our merit badge offerings does not guarantee completion. Scouts must be attentive and active participants in the class (including refraining from phone use, unless as a part of a requirement), and complete all classwork assigned by the counselor. In certain circumstances, it may not be possible to complete all badge requirements during a class. This risk is assumed when registering for a workshop. It is the sole discretion of our instructors to determine whether or not a Scout fulfills specific requirements. The instructor's word on this is final.
Prerequisites
When registering for badges, please make sure to check the prerequisites listed below. Prerequisites should be done prior to arrival. If not completed beforehand, Scouts will receive a partial. Proof of completion must be shown to the instructor prior to the end of the week. No work will be accepted upon the conclusion of the event. For an up-to-date list of merit badge requirements, please visit Scouting.org.
